“Hardest part of show prep now danced in this rain times before though.
Rode that storm.
Because like they say:
“Smooth seas never created skilful sailors.”
At week 8, I dropped into ketogenic dieting and upped my cardio.
Proper ketogenic dieting though not the “buzz stuff” that gets banded about these days.
So that brought out the lethargic times, harder training sessions and doses of naps.
Coffee & coconut MCT, CLA helped though.
If you know, you know. 💪
At week 7 the weights went up and the protein went with it.
Because you can’t build a solid wall without the right cement.
Tired and recovery not easy.
Water went up to support that though.
At week 6 steps went up, training came back to four days, fibre intake went up and sleep needed more attention.
Water went up again to support the body’s rest, digestion and recovery along with further cardio output.
Week 5 out of show lights tomorrow and knowing Iv sat on this stool in years gone by it’s harder this time round because:
I’m mid thirty’s now, and even though I’m prepping myself again, wiser to it all too having been on the old skool bus for some years sometimes the second head creeps in.
So more naps and sleeps are needed, there’s certainly more coffee needed yet I don’t know how much of that I’m already addicted to..😉
There’s a few niggles and pains prevalent than what I had in previous show years because they where my spring chicken 20s.
More so 5 more weeks before the stadium show lights turn on and judging by the cover of this chapter I shouldn’t even be stood like a barbarian at the gates this time round.
That’s a past record though I’m now writing a new song.
And like my grandad said to me this week when he shined his light in my eyes. 💙
“Keep pushing Matt, your going again and that makes me smile.”
That was a nice piece and give me that next push.
Plenty of naps, little meals, steps, litres of water and training still to go.
Yet facing the music, enjoying the lyrics and ready for a special dance called:
“Revival.”
I know some of you know because you have seen the rise, demise & the fall.
Sometimes there’s beauty in a new song.
It’s coming.
💙xx”
